The detention order for Mokhtar Houshmand, the secretary of the Marivan Society of Visual Arts, was renewed for a month. He is detained in the Sanandaj Ministry of Intelligence detention centre.

A close source to Mokhtar Houshmand said, “Mokhtar was illegally detained. His detention was first extended for ten days and now it is renewed for another month.”

The source also added that in an interview with Rava News, the Houshmand family was denied the possibility of meeting Mokhtar or talking with him on the phone. The family was also prohibited from talking to the media. The same day Mokhtar Houshmand was arrested, security forces prohibited the family from having any contact with the media about the arrest. Some sources reported that the family attempted to find a lawyer to defend Mokhtar Houshmand in court, but efforts have been unsuccessful.

Mokhtar Houshmand is a painter. He is also the executive secretary of the annual festival of design in the Kurdish region. He is engaged in cultural activities and has organized several exhibitions in Marivan and other Kurdish cities.

تمدید قرار بازداشت مختار هوشمند برای یک ماه دیگر

قرار بازداشت مختار هوشمند، فعال هنری و مسئول انجمن هنرهای تجسمی مریوان، پس از سپری کردن بیش از یک ماه در بازداشتگاه اطلاعات سنندج، به مدت یک ماه دیگر تمدید شد.

یکی از نزدیکان مختار هوشمند با اعلام این خبر گفت: “با وجود نگهداری غیرقانونی مختار هوشمند به مدت یک ماه و سپس تمدید قرار بازداشت موقت وی به مدت ۱۰ روز مسولان قضایی برای بار دوم اعلام کرده اند این قرار به مدت یک ماه دیگر تمدید شده است.”

وی همچنین در گفتگو با روانیوز خبر داد که در طول یک ماه گذشته، خانواده هوشمند از هرگونه تماس تلفنی با وی محروم بوده و از انجام هر گونه مصاحبه با رسانه ها منع شده اند.

نیروهای امنیتی در همان روز بازداشت مختار هوشمند هم به خانواده‌ این هنرمند گفته بودند از اعلام خبر دستگیری و مصاحبه با رسانه‌ها خودداری کنند.

پیشتر برخی از منابع خبری از رایزنی های خانواده جهت اخذ وکیل خبر برای وی خبر داده بودند، اما این شخص نزدیک به این فعال هنری کُرد می گوید که تلاشهاهیشان برای اخذ وکیل تا این لحظه بی نتیجه مانده است.

مختار هوشمند، نقاش، فعال فرهنگی، مسئول انجمن هنرهای تجسمی شهر مریوان و دبیر اجرایی جشنواره سالانه طراحی مناطق کردنشین است که در سالهای گذشته نمایشگاه های متعددی در زمینه هنرهای تجسمی در مریوان و دیگر شهرهای کردستان برپا کرده بود.

مختار هوشمند در تاریخ ۲ خرداد ماه ۱۳۸۹ بازداشت شده بود.
