In the past few years, a group of protesters have gathered in front of Qom’s governor’s office to protest against unpaid wages. However, this time around, the protests were more seriously conducted.
According to this report, before noon, many men and women workers and their families gathered in front of Qom’s governor’s office. The demonstration caused heavy street traffic, and after one hour, the security forces diverted them to side streets.
The laid-off workers were promised either social security pay or in many of their cases with seniority, a retirement package. But none of this has been honoured for three years now, which has put a damper in the workers’ daily lives.
