Ayoub Nemati, the former secretary of Tehran University Guild of Students, is still being held in solitary confinement of the notorious Ward 2A of Evin prison, which is under the control of IRGC. Since the month of September, thirty Tehran University students have been summoned under the pretext of investigating the case in regards to the post-election raid on dormitories which lead to loss of lives and financial losses.

Amir Sheibanizadeh Detained for the 5th Time in 1 Year
Amir Sheibanizadeh was summoned to court on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 and was detained after appearing in court. There have been reports that he has been transferred to Mashhad Vakilabad Prison. He was first detained after the post-election protests on August 6, 2009, then detained again on September 14th for participation in the Qods day protests. Again on December 9th he was arrested for participating in the Student Day ceremony held in Mashhad Ferdowsi University. His last previous unlawful arrest occurred on January 27th after he was summoned to the Mashhad Revolutionary Court without committing any crime.
Ahvaz City Council Member Dariush Mombini on Hunger Strike
Dariush Mombini, an Ahvaz City Council member, who was arrested after his decision to reveal violations of law by government officials in a press conference, has gone on hunger strike. There are serious concerns as to his condition since he is war veteran with 50% disability. Darisuh Mombini’s sister has also been arrested for objecting to the detainment of her brother on September 27th.
Tehran University Student Activist Habib Farahzadi Detained
Habib Farahzadi who has been deprived of continuing his education was detained on Saturday October 2, 2010, when he went to Tehran University in order to register for his classes. According to JARAS, Farahzadi who had been suspended for 3 semesters because of his political activities went to the university after his suspension period was over. Upon leaving the University, he was attacked on 16 Azar Street by plainclothes security agents in front of University security forces.
Heshmatollah Tabarzadi Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison and 74 Lashes!
The 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court which is presided by Judge Pirabbas, has sentenced political activist and Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Iran, Heshmatollah Tarbarzadi, to 9 years in prison and 74 lashes. Tabarzadi was detained on December 28th, 2009 after Ashura protests and was transferred to solitary confinement in Ward 209 of Evin Prison. He was later transferred to Rajai Shahr prison for protesting the execution of the 4 Kurdish activists, including Farzad Kamangar, and 1 political prisoner.
Zhinous Sobhani Sentenced to 2 Years in Prison
Zhinous Sobhani, a Baha’i citizen and the Secretary of the Committee of Human Rights Defenders, was detained on January 3rd and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court this week. Sobhani’s husband, Artin Ghazanfari, was also among 10 Ashura Baha’i detainees arrested last year and he is still currently in prison.
