Navid Khanjani Summoned to Court

The Committee of Human Rights Reporters: Navid Khanjani, a member of the Population of Combat Against Educational Discrimination and the Committee of Human Rights Reporters, has received a written summons to attend a court hearing on October 5, 2010 at branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court. No reason was indicated for the summon.

At the final court hearing for Navid Khanjani that took place on on June 21, 2010, the charges brought against him were: acting against national security, propaganda against the regime, disturbing public opinion, publishing lies, forming illegal groups (he formed a committee to defend the educational rights of Baha’is, a deprived minority group in Iran), and active membership in the illegal group Committee of Human Rights Reporters.

Navid Khanjani has denied all charges and said about his activism, “I have worked for human rights and educational rights. Everything I have done follows legal terms and stays within the boundaries of the law.”

Navid Khanjani was arrested on the evening of March 2, 2010 at his house. After two months, he was released from Evin prison on May 3rd with a $100 thousand USD bail submitted.

Saeed Haeri Receives Prison Sentence

Saeed Haeri, a member of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters, has been sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment and 74 lashes.

Today branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court convicted the human rights activist of “disturbing public order,” and “gathering and colluding with intent to harm state security”.

Saeed Haeri was released on $100 thousand USD bail after 80 days of detention on March 10, 2010. He was re-arrested on December 20, 2009 along with Shiva Nazar Ahari and Kouhyar Goodarzi.

On September 12th, Shiva Nazar Ahari was released from Evin prison on a $500 thousand USD bail. A week later, she received her sentence of six years exile in Izeh prison and 76 lashes. Kouhyar Goodarzi, also a CHRR member, is serving a one year sentence and has been detained since December 20, 2009 in Evin prison.


نوید خانجانی به دادگاه انقلاب احضار شد

کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر- نوید خانجانی از اعضای کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر و جمعیت مبارزه با تبعیض تحصیلی با احضاریه کتبی برای شرکت در جلسه دادگاه در روز 13 مهر 89 در شعبه 26 دادگاه انقلاب احضار شد.

در برگه احضاریه از اتهامات نام نبرده اند ولی در جلسه دفاع آخر نوید خانجانی در روز 30 خرداد وی تفهیم اتهام به : اقدام علیه امنیت ، تبلیغ علیه نظام ، تشویش اذهان عمومی ، نشر اکاذیب ، تشکیل گروه غیر قانونی ( گروه محرومین از تحصیل بهایی _ کمیته ی حق تحصیل ) ، عضویت و همکاری موثر در گروه غیرقانونی کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر شد که وی تمام این اتهامات را رد کرده و اعلام داشت تمامی فعالیت‌های وی «در راستای احقاق حقوق محرومین از تحصیل و از طرق کاملا قانونی انجام پذیرفته است

نوید خانجانی شامگاه 11 اسفند در منزل پدری اش در اصفهان بازداشت شد و پس از دو ماه در 13 اردیبهشت با تودیع وثیقه 100 میلیونی از بند دو الف در زندان اوین آزاد شد.
