November 15, 2010 – Nasrin Sotoudeh’s trial took place this morning in branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court, with Judge Pir-Abassi. According to reports by the Committee of Human Rights Reporters (CHRR), the trial took place in the presence of Sotoudeh’s lawyers Abdolafatah Soltani, Mahnaz Parakand, Mina Jafari and Nasim Ghanavi who defended Sotoudeh against the following three charges: “acting against the national security of the country”, “gathering information and collusion with the intent to disrupt the security of the country” and “working with the Human Rights Defenders”.

According to Sotoudeh’s lawyers the trail proceeded smoothly, however, due to a number of minor problems associated with the manner in which her lawyers had submitted her case, Judge Pir-Abassi agreed to delay the court date to November 24th and stated that the conditions of her incarceration will be reviewed.

Despite the public announcement of the court date, Sotoudeh’s husband Reza Khandan Sotoudeh’s was banned from attending the proceedings. Khandan was nevertheless able to meet with his wife in person for a few minutes and described her in good spirits. He confirmed that Sotoudeh agreed to break her hunger stike based on requests by her lawyers and family.

Nasrin Sotoudeh was summoned to court and arrested on August 28, 2010 after her residence and office were raided. Since her arrest, Sotoudeh has been in solitary confinement and has spent 40 days of her incarceration on hunger strike.

Renowned lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh is the winner of the International Human Rights Organization Human Rights Award. She is a member of the Human Rights Defenders, One Million Signatures Campaign for Change in Discriminatory Laws Against Women, and The Association for the Protection of Children. Sotoudeh’s clients include many human rights activists, women’s rights activists, victims of child abuse and children at risk of execution. In 2008 Sotoudeh won the International Human Rights Organization prestigious Human Rights Award.

پایان اعتصاب غذا و برگزاری دادگاه نسرین ستوده

چکیده : به گفته ی وکلای نسرین ستوده روند دادگاه خوب و مثبت بود اما به دلیل اشکالات شکلی که از سوی وکلا به پرونده وارد شد، قاضی پیرعباسی با برگزاری دادگاه در تاریخ 3 آذرماه به منظور رسیدگی ماهوی به پرونده موافقت کرد و گفت در صورت امکان در مورد وضعیت قرار بازداشت خانم ستوده نیز تجدید نظر خواهد شد.

دادگاه نسرین ستوده، صبح امروز ۲۴ آبان ماه، در شعبه ٢۶ دادگاه انقلاب، به ریاست قاضی پیرعباسی برگزار شد.

به گزارش کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر، در این دادگاه که با حضور وکلای نسرین ستوده برگزار شد، عبدالفتاح سلطانی، مهناز پراکند، مینا جعفری و نسیم غنوی در خصوص سه اتهام “اقدام علیه امنیت ملی”، “اجتماع و تبانی به قصد برهم زدن امنیت” و “همکاری با کانون مدافعان حقوق بشر”، به دفاع از نسرین ستوده پرداختند. به گفته ی وکلای نسرین ستوده روند دادگاه خوب و مثبت بود اما به دلیل اشکالات شکلی که از سوی وکلا به پرونده وارد شد، قاضی پیرعباسی با برگزاری دادگاه در تاریخ ۳ آذرماه به منظور رسیدگی ماهوی به پرونده موافقت کرد و گفت در صورت امکان در مورد وضعیت قرار بازداشت خانم ستوده نیز تجدید نظر خواهد شد.

با وجود اعلام قبلی مبنی بر علنی بودن دادگاه، از حضور رضا خندان همسر نسرین ستوده ممانعت به عمل آمد و در آخرین دقایق حضور نسرین ستوده در دادگاه همسرش که موفق شد برای دقایقی او را برای اولین بار به صورت حضوری ملاقات کند وضعیت روحی وی را خوب توصیف کرد.

نسرین ستوده از روز شنبه ۶ شهریورماه با بازرسی همزمان خانه و محل کارش، به دادگاه احضار شد و روز ۱۳ شهریور ماه در پی مراجعه به دادگاه بازداشت شد. او در این مدت در سلول انفرادی نگهداری شده و نزدیک به ۴۰ روز از دوران بازداشت خود را در اعتصاب غذا به سر برده است.

نسرین ستوده حقوقدان، وکیل دادگستری و برنده جایزه حقوق بشر “سازمان حقوق بشر بین الملل”، ضمن عضویت در کانون مدافعان حقوق بشر، کمپین یک میلیون امضا برای تغییر قوانین تبعیض آمیز علیه زنان، و انجمن حمایت از کودکان، وکالت پرونده‌های بسیاری از فعالان حقوق بشر، فعالان حقوق زنان، کودکان قربانی کودک آزاری و کودکان در معرض اعدام را برعهده داشته‌است. ستوده در سال ۱۳۸۸ (۲۰۰۸م) برنده جایزه حقوق بشر «سازمان حقوق بشر بین‌الملل» شد.
