Committee of Human Rights Reporters- News received from Rajai Shahr ‘Gohardasht’ prison indicates that Fariba Kamal Abadi is ill. She is one of the seven former leaders of the Baha’i community, Yarane Iran.

Since a week ago, Fariba Kamal Abadi has been battling ague (severe form of fever), the common cold, and insomnia. Prison guards have reacted by sending her to a quarantine cell without providing any medical care. Gohardasht prison is known for not having adequate medical supplies and health facilities for prisoners.

Since May 15, 2008, Fariba Kamal Abadi and five other former leaders of Yarane Iran have been held in prison and their homes have been attacked by Security forces. Mahvash Sabet, the seventh former member was arrested on May 3, 2008 in Mashhad.

The seven former Baha’i community leaders were each issued a sentence of ten years in prison and transferred to Gohardasht prison.

عدم رسیدگی پزشکی در زندان رجایی شهر

بیماری فریبا کمال‌آبادی، شهروند بهایی در زندان رجایی شهر کرج

کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر – گزارش‌های رسیده از زندان رجایی شهر کرج از بیماری فریبا کمال‌آبادی یکی از هفت مدیر سابق جامعه‌ی بهاییان ایران خبر می‌دهد.

وی در حدود یک هفته است که با بیماری سرما خوردگی، تب و لرز و بی‌خوابی مواجه است. این در حالی است که مسئولین زندان در صورت بیماری زندانیان، بدون رسیدگی پزشکی تنها ایشان را به قرنطینه زندان منتقل می‌کنند. زندان رجایی‌شهر از نظر دسترسی زندانیان به دارو و امکانات پزشکی همواره در وضعیت نامناسبی قرار داشته است.

فریبا کمال‌آباری و پنج مدیر پیشین جامعه‌ی بهاییان در ایران از تاریخ ۲۵ اردیبهشت سال ۸۷ در جریان حمله‌ی همزمان نیروهای امنیتی به منازلشان در بازداشت به سر میبرند و نفر هفتم، خانم مهوش ثابت پیش از ایشان و در تاریخ ۱۵ اسفند سال ۱۳۸۶ در مشهد به بازداشت شد.

هر یک از این هفت نفر به ۱۰ سال زندان محکوم و به زندان رجایی‌شهر تبعید شده‌اند.
