URGENT: Member of Monarch Association in Iran to Be Exeuted
Comittee of Human Rights Reporters:
On Monday October 5th, Mohammad Ali Zamani, a member of the Monarch Association in Iran who gave a comprehensive confession of his involvement in the post-election unrest, and later had his confession publicly televised on state media, was moved from section 209 of Evin prison to branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court. Under the supervision of Judge Salavati, Mohammad Ali Zamani was given the death penalty.
None of the accused that were tried on the second and the third session of the mass trails had access to their own chosen lawyers. Instead, they were present with the lawyers that had been chosen for them by the revolutionary court.
