HRANA – At least five Mourning Mothers have been arrested in an attack by the Ministry of Information on February 8, 2010.

According to HRANA, On Monday, February 8, security forces went to the residence of one of the Mourning Mothers (identity withheld). They searched her house, confiscated her items, and arrested her. The family of the arrested mother said the following names were mentioned in the warrant: Leila Seyfi Elahi, Zhila Karamzadeh Makvandi, Fatemeh Rastegar, Goli Hosseini, and Manijeh Taheri.

There are no reports about the extent of the arrests and the final tally of the arrested mothers. Unofficial sources have confirmed at least 19 members of Mourning Mothers have been arrested.  More documentation is needed [to confirm the news].

The Mourning Mothers group was founded in June 2009 by mothers who had lost their children after the the death of Neda Agha Soltan and Sohrab Arabi.

The main demand of the Mourning Mothers has been [to receive] a response by Islamic Republic officials regarding the unjust deaths, disappearances, and detention of their children.

اقدام برای بازداشت تنی از مادران عزادار

خبرگزاری هرانا – نیروهای امنیتی برای بازداشت تنی از فعالان در گروه مادران عزادار اقدام کردند.

به گزارش هرانا، نیروهای امنیتی روز دوشنبه مورخ 19 بهمن ماه با مراجعه به منزل یکی از مادران عزادار (هویت محفوظ)، اقدام به تفتیش منزل، ضبط لوازم و بازداشت ایشان کردند، خانواده بازداشت شده مذکور عنوان می دارند در حکم بازداشت اسامی “لیلا سیفی الهی، ژیلا کرم زاده مکوندی، فاطمه رستگار، گلی حسینی و منیژه طاهری” از دیگر مادران عزادار نیز ذکر شده بود

از گستره بازداشت و اسامی نهایی بازداشت شدگان اطلاعی در دست نیست. منابع غیررسمی دست کم اسامی 19 تن از بانوان بازداشت شده منتسب به گروه فوق را مورد تاکید قرار می دهند که این مهم نیازمند اسناد بیشتر است.

لازم به توضیح است، گروه مادران عزادار پس از مرگ ندا آقا سلطان و سهراب اعرابى در خرداد ماه سال جارى خورشیدى توسط مادرانى که در جریان رویدادهاى پس از انتخابات در سال‌هاى گذشته فرزندان خود را از دست داده‌اند، تشکیل شده است.

عمده‌ترین خواسته مادران عزادار «پاسخگوىى مقام‌هاى جمهورى اسلامى در برابر کشته شدن، ناپدید شدن، و یا زندانى بودن به ناحق فرزندانشان» اعلام شده است.
