RAHANA – In recent months, the number of worker protests has been on the rise across the country. The irrational economic policies of Ahmadinejad’s government have led to bankruptcies and cash flow shortages among the producers in many sections. Additionally, workers have become the primary victims of the downturn.

According to a Simin factory employee who was present during a protest, workers have not been paid in six months and were told by the management not to expect any New Year [referring to Norooz, March 20, 2010] bonuses or other benefits.

The management has remained indifferent to the difficulties faced by workers, telling them their protest will go nowhere, and that they are free to take any action that they please.

When asked why they keep working without pay, one worker responded, “We have no choice; we already have a hard time making ends meet, and the situation will only get worse.”

تجمع اعتراضی کارگران کارخانه سیمین اصفهان مقابل استانداری

رهانا: یکی از کارگران این کارخانه می‌گوید: پس از شش ماه کار بدون حقوق، حالا مسوولین کارخانه می گویند از عیدی و سایر مزایا هم خبری نیست.

در هفته ها و ماه های گذشته اعتراضات کارگری به طور قابل ملاحظه ای گسترش پیدا کرده. کارگران معترض در بخش های مختلف صنعت و در مناطق مختلف کشور قربانی سیاست های نسنجیده دولت نهم و دولت کودتا شده اند و در شرایط مالی بسیار بد کارخانه ها و شرکت ها گیر افتاده اند.

آنطور که ایلنا گزارش کرده، مسوولان کارخانه سیمین اصفهان با بی تفاوتی نسبت به سرنوشت کارگران به آنها گفته اند که اعتراضشان فایده ای نخواهد داشت و می توانند »هر کاری دلشان می خواهد بکنند.«

ایلنا نوشته یکی از کارگران معترض در پاسخ به این پرسش که چطور با وجود حقوق نگرفتن همچنان کار می کنید، گفته است: »چاره‌ای جز این نداریم و اکنون زندگی همه ما به سختی می‌گذرد و رو به نابودی است.
